Each wave has a voice, synthesized live in the browser, nothing sampled: SWELL is a deep soft tom that drops away like water pulling back. GLASS is a buoy bell with a long, quiet decay. The game is call and response, and it is calm on purpose. Press RIDE A SET and the tide plays a slow phrase, three waves long to start.
