Two new rooms opened in the drum house tonight, and both of them are full of Nouns. /drum-noun-whack is nine burrows and sixty seconds. Real Nouns — the same seeds that hang in the Visit Nouns contract — pop up on the groove and duck back down before you can say noggles. Q through C on a keyboard, thumbs on a phone. There is a golden noun. It is worth three of the regular kind and it knows it. /drum-noun-crossing hands you the stop sign. You are the crossing guard of a small seaside town; the walk signal pulses at 92 beats per minute and one Noun at a time comes strolling for the zebra. Wave them through inside the stripes and they hop across double-time and pile up on the far curb — a little crowd of heads that made it home. Miss the window and you get honked at. The honk is synthesized, like everything else in the drum house: no samples, just oscillators doing their best. And the front door itself learned to drum. The beat desk sits on the homepage now — four pads, four Nouns, D F J K. Kick, snare, bell, chime. Every hit rides the same /api/sounds bus the TV walls listen to, so a tap on the front door flashes somewhere down the hallway. That is the whole idea of this place, really: you touch one room and another room lights up. Both games run sixty seconds, grade you S through D, and keep your best score on your own machine. The pot's on.

pointcast now has one address that is closed most of the time. /thursday opens on thursday at three in the afternoon, pacific, and shuts at seven. the other six days and twenty hours it is a shuttered pixel storefront with a hand-lettered hours card taped to the roll-down, a padlock on the bottom rail, and a line of mono type counting down to the next three o'clock. the closed state is the whole point. this is a town of six hundred-odd pages that never sleep, and the honest thing a page can do about that is keep hours and say so out loud. a garden is slow on purpose. a broadcast can be too. the hours are not invented. on the 300 block of main street the el segundo certified farmers market sets up thursdays, three to seven, so the room keeps the street's clock. stand on that block at four in the afternoon and this page is open in your hand. when it does open the shutter rolls up on live weather for that block, a pacific clock counting down to seven, and one line, a hundred and forty characters, from whoever is here. the board clears each week. no archive pages, no cron, nothing scheduled to deploy — the window is computed from the date every time anyone looks, and the server checks it again before it writes.

LOCAL STAR COMMONS begins with six useful local-first objects: LOCAL STAR, a desktop satellite, compute, sensor, and mesh hub; AIR, WATER, LIGHT, CARE, and POWER, five companion products aimed at clearer rooms, earlier signals, gentler coordination, and more resilient everyday life. Together they form one product family rather than six disconnected gadgets. The Commons gives that family an off-chain founding constitution. Five working circles—Product, Field, Care, Stewardship, and Story—move ideas through signal, shape, review, vote, field, and learn. Three proposals begin the work: a public First Field Table, a 25-mile El Segundo pilot ring, and an Open Repair Ledger. Membership grows through visible contribution, and the current site stores participation signals only on the visitor's device. This release is a direction and coordination prototype, not a legal entity, investment offer, token project, active treasury, fundraising mechanism, binding shared vote, certified hardware program, satellite service, emergency system, or operating physical mesh. Network El Segundo has published Mesh Commons, a practical two-year plan for a community-owned local network centered in El Segundo. The least-expensive honest start is not blanket coverage. It is three consented rooftops, three directional paths, one donated service computer, and local things neighbors want to use before an internet gateway exists. The first measured two-roof link has a $295–$395 hardware floor: two $65-class outdoor radios, a small router, outdoor cable, surge and grounding allowances, and a light mounting contingency. The first redundant triangle is budgeted at $950–$1,500. The year-one hardware floor is $3,000–$5,000; the 24-month floor is $9,500–$15,000 for 12–20 roofs and four to six hubs, assuming donated access, power, compute, and volunteer labor. Professional roof work, engineering, permits, insurance, tower rent, unusual mounts, and internet backhaul are excluded. The operating rhythm borrows from NYC Mesh: potential nodes enter a map, safe panoramas establish line-of-sight candidates, equipment is bought only after viability, and mature clusters keep at least two directional uplinks. Local DNS makes hello.mesh, map.mesh, play.mesh, bbs.mesh, radio.mesh, library.mesh, drop.mesh, garden.mesh, and atelier.mesh useful during an upstream outage. Twenty-five miles is a planning horizon, not a coverage claim. Any 15–25 mile proof path waits for permissions, rooftop height, a spectrum survey, and Fresnel clearance. The network is free at the point of local use, supported by suggested $5–$20 donations or volunteer time, and logs health metrics rather than browsing history or message content. Network El Segundo has opened the Local Signal Field Kit, a signed MH product study for people who can almost see one another. Eight small instruments—Porch Beam, Window Flag, Corner Chime, Microburst, Hush Pebble, Roof Ripple, Mesh Post, and Field Cards—share the same four meanings across light, quiet sound, touch, paper, and a short-lived local relay. The companion map sketches a three-step El Segundo rollout: an eight-node porch loop, a sixteen-node cross-town thread, and a twenty-four-node one-hour dusk rehearsal stretching from the Pacific edge through Downtown and Smoky Hollow toward the eastside campus and transit edge. The map is diagrammatic, every host opts in, and every device has a physical off switch. Microburst is the field kit's answer to a mini firework: a ten-second rechargeable fan of LEDs and reflective fins with no flame, smoke, explosive material, projectile, or debris. The wider system is also bounded: no lasers into the sky, emergency imitation, surveillance, open microphones, location history, or always-on sound. These are product briefs and browser interactions—not certified hardware, a municipal plan, an emergency channel, or an active physical mesh.

Sunset Switchboard is a public instrument for the hour when El Segundo changes color. Choose one of four skies, tune the band from neighborhood to emergency, and set the signal's reach from right here to orbit. The tower turns those settings into a compact broadcast that can be shared or saved as a 1200 by 630 card. The page is native to PointCast and works on phones without an account. Its six-entry transmission log stays in localStorage on the visitor's device. This release adds no server-side storage, identity collection, wallet action, purchase, mint, or external runtime dependency. The result is less a generator than a small civic radio: one bright object, one sentence worth carrying, and an invitation to keep a useful channel open for strangers.

Network El Segundo V2 turns the verified-wallet count into a nighttime civic signal wall

Network El Segundo has opened a second living installation without replacing the first. V2 is a nighttime wall of one hundred public windows. Each unique Tezos Mainnet wallet verified through the free Kukai message flow lights one window, and the composition refreshes from the same deduplicated public count every thirty seconds. Any visitor can touch a window to send a local visual pulse across the whole wall. That gesture changes only the browser animation; it does not change the roster, create a signature, identify a visitor, or write a transaction. The artwork receives the participant count and displays no wallet addresses. The original First 100 Signal remains live as V1. PointCast carries 100 Windows through a distinct canonical route, this Block, JSON and RSS feeds, and a fourth creative in the reciprocal Network El Segundo house campaign. Joining still costs zero tez. No purchase, mint, token, transfer, payout, promised return, or automated distribution is active.

Network El Segundo now has a public signal made by its participants. The field contains one hundred light positions. Each unique Tezos Mainnet wallet verified through the free Kukai message flow turns on one light, and the artwork refreshes from the deduplicated public count every thirty seconds. The composition publishes collective proof without publishing wallet addresses. It receives only the verified count—no addresses, emails, profiles, page-view estimates, or visitor identifiers. The count remains independently inspectable through the public participant API. PointCast is carrying the work through the canonical Signal desk, this Block, JSON and RSS feeds, Press Wire, the sitewide first-100 strip, and three contextual house ads. Joining costs zero tez and requires no purchase or transaction. Sale settlement, participant payouts, tokens, yield, and returns remain inactive prototypes.

It proves one thing only — that one person controls one Tezos Mainnet address — and the deduplicated public counter moves by one. The founding rule is simple: bring one wallet, then pass the same clean link to one Tezos artist, collector, builder, or curious friend. PointCast publishes the count, the press filing, the house-campaign receipt, and the machine-readable release packet so the milestone can be checked instead of merely announced. The future commerce idea remains a prototype. A qualifying art purchase would add its wallet to a distribution list, with 50 percent of each recorded sale reserved for eligible participants after that sale. Not a neighborhood, not a city, not a region. Twenty-five miles from El Segundo is the natural commuter footprint — the distance a local pickleball game, a drop-in meetup, a same-day delivery, or a mesh antenna line-of-sight all collapse into. Bigger than a walkable neighborhood, tighter than the whole LA basin. Small enough that showing up matters, big enough that nineteen meaningfully distinct places fit inside the ring.
